Weighing less than two nickels, the Alpenblow Classic is a patent-pending ultralight luxury item. This micro inflator can inflate your pad by quietly sipping power directly from your phone or power bank, in as little as three minutes (depending on your pad’s size). Inflating a typical sleeping pad will use <1% of an iPhone’s battery capacity. Each Alpenblow ships with multiple nozzles to support a variety of sleeping pad valves.
Specifications (when using a Regular NeoAir XLite NXT pad):
- Weight: 8.60 grams (0.30 oz)
- Energy Usage: 18 mAh @ 5V
- Noise Level: 42 dBA (similar to a moderate rainfall)
- Included Nozzles: Therm-a-Rest (WingLock), NEMO (Laylow), Big Agnes, Sea-to-Summit, and EXPED. More nozzles sold separately!

Additional Notes on Power and Pressure:
To power your Alpenblow with your phone, it must use the USB-C standard, which includes most Androids and recent iPhones (15 & onward). Any power bank with a 5V output is also suitable.
Inflating a regular-sized pad will consume 0.75% of an iPhone 15’s battery, or 0.25% of a NiteCore NB10000’s capacity.
Although the inflated pad will appear rigid, during testing most hikers preferred a mattress firmness that required an extra breath or two. This device is intended for backcountry sleeping pads and will struggle to inflate kayaks, rafts, and oversized mattresses.
Shipping is free within the United States, and there is a flat fee of $15 for shipping outside the U.S.
F.A.Q.:
Q: Can you deflate your sleeping pad with the Alpenblow?
A: No, unfortunately the dual inlet ports & 1-way turbine prevent a deflation mode. Check out the Alpenblow Lux if you'd like to deflate your pad.
Q: Could you stoke a fire or cool yourself off with the Alpenblow?
A: Not really, no. The flow is non-laminar when it exits so it doesn’t travel very far.
Q: My sleeping pad is taking longer to inflate than expected- what’s going on??
A: Uh oh! Please ensure the nozzle is fully seated to the Alpenblow and to your pad, and that your valve is configured to reduce blockage— setting to “deflate” often helps if an option. Altitude or a sleeping bag/quilt laying on top of your pad can also increase inflation times.
Note from the Designer:
Alpenglow is the rosy light from a setting sun that reflects off peaks to better illuminate your path. Alpenglow Gear was founded by Gadget, a 2023 PCT hiker to invent gear that can help you along your path as well. The Alpenblow won’t improve your FKT, but it’ll spare your weary lungs every night.
Thank You and Happy Trails!

Awesome ultralight tool for doing what I most hate to do when backpacking --blow up my sleeping pad.
My first impressions of the Alpenblow are that it is an impressive little pump. I have only filled my Ether Light XR Pro Insulated ASC Sleeping Pad one time at home, but the pump worked as advertised. It took about 5 mins to fill this large 4" thick pad. The pad needed a couple more breaths to bring it up to the full mark. Which is a lot better than using the bag filler or your lungs.
Both the Alpenblow and Alpenflow work well and are exceptionally light. The Alpenblow fills my Thermarest NeoAir XLite in a timed 6 minutes to just how I like it. The Alpenflow is easy to use and transfers fuel easily between canisters.
Best lil teensie weensie gadget ever for a backpacker! We got our double tent pad filled in 8 minutes using 4% of my iPhones battery.
I'm happy and impressed by the design and engineering of the Alpenblow and Alpenglow. Both products combine practical functionality with ultralightness. Well done, Gadget! My only gripe is with the 4 included nozzles. Now, have 3 nozzles types I'll never use and one I need (TAR WingLock). That doesn't seem like a good use of resources to me. At time of purchase, I would prefer to have the choice of one included nozzle type, then the option to purchase additional nozzle types.
